The most widely used pavement structures in Indonesia are flexible pavements consisting of coarse aggregate compositions, fine aggregates, asphalt and filler materials. The type of pavement used is densely graded pavement (asphalt concrete). The ability of the mixture of asphalt concrete in holding the vehicle load (traffic) is strongly influenced by the quality of the asphalt concrete mix. This study aims to find out the composition of Muara Takus quarry aggregate usage of Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course (AC-BC) asphalt mixture with the use of Asphalt Buton Grain type 5/20 and penetration asphalt 60/70. The method used is a survey of direct sampling to the field and testing laboratory. a Sampling of aggregate data is done in the field and then sieve analysis using the standard in accordance with SNI 1968: 2008 and aggregate composition. The results of the screening analysis of both AC-BC asphalt mixtures using Asphalt Liquid Pen 60/70 and Asphalt Buton Grain Type 5/20 there is a very significant difference to the use of aggregate on Asphalt Buton Grain Type 5/20 is the direct addition of Asphalt Buton Grain alone into the Asphalt AC-BC mixture and not using a filler.

CBR Laboratory Analysis for Determining The Number of Compaction Tracks to Achieve Field CBR

Compaction is the process of grounding the soil by removing air from the pores of the soil mechanically (beaten, crushed and so on) Compaction is carried out with the aim of improving the technical properties of the soil, namely obtaining the densest soil conditions (maximum solid state). In the process of compaction water content also plays a significant role to achieve maximum density value. Water is a lubricant for the soil to help unify the aggregate and remove air in the compaction process. From the results of compaction in the laboratory can be seen how much compaction energy is given and optimum water content (Wopt) to achieve maximum compaction. From the results of compaction in the laboratory can be applied for maximum compaction in the field, from the calculation of compaction energy in labour from the hammer weight of 4.5 kg, 45.7 cm falling height, g = 10 m/s2. The compaction energy is 1134 kg.m/s2. To get the number of compaction paths needed to achieve maximum compaction can be determined from the equipment used, the amount of energy used as an example of a vibro roller capacity of 10500 kg, get the solidification energy 164.1 (kg.m2/s). So the trajectory required vibro roller tool as much as seven trajectories.

Analysis of soil subgrade bearing capacity for clay using laboratory testing data

Road construction failures are often caused by unsupported subgrade classification. The purpose of this study was to determine the bearing capacity of subgrade on clay using test data in the laboratory. The contribution of this study can later be a recommendation in the use of subgrade types of clay and alternative uses. One of the properties of land strength associated with roads in the California Bearing Ratio (CBR). The method used is soil physical testing and CBR testing. The soil sample used was undisturbed soil in the subgrade in Minas District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. The result showed that the clay studied was non-organic Sandy Lean Clay CL) with low plasticity based on the USCS classification table. 2.681 specific gravity, water content 29,94%, liquid limit 33.64%, plastic limit 23,67% and plasticity index 9.97%. Soaked CBR test results obtained 4.21% and included in the medium classification. The use of this type of clay soil for subgrade with the bearing capacity of CBR classification needs to be pursued with alternative improvements and soil reinforcement that can increase the CBR value to a minimum of 6%.
