Tanjung Kelayang Beach in Belitung Island is one of the top 10 destinations of government priority tourism today. It targeted to increase GDP to 8% in the next four years. In addition, it is targeted also working opportunities for 13 million people. On the other hand, Nyiur Melambai beach located on Belitung Island expected to help increase the local revenue and contribute economically to the local population. With the research of a qualitative and quantitative mixed mode, this study had conducted to disseminate a number of related respondents. Found some fundamental changes in the economic social aspects of local communities that is livelihoods. Previously, they are tin producers. Recently, they are turning to coastal ecotourism guides or a batik crafter. This concept has raised the economic needs of local governments and residents along the coast. The government needs financial resources in maintaining the quality of the coastal environment. Moreover, society needs economic contribution to sustain its life. In terms of the concept, it generated some business opportunity or work in the field.

Bangka Belitung Province is an archipelago that has tremendous tourism potential because of its natural wealthand socio cultural potencies which enjoys increasing popularity among tourists. However, it isnow ironically threatened by tin mining activities, including in Bangka Island, in which Bangka Tengah Regency is located. Begadung Island in Bangka Tengah is, therefore, also threatened. Due to this, its potency should be studied, in an effort to propose a policy for its sustainability. A descriptive qualitative approach is utilized to explore data of Begadung Island tourism potency at the beginning of this planned research using secondary data and observation, as well as limited interviews with the stakeholders, chosen both purposively and randomly. Collected data was then analyzed qualitatively using triangulation technique. It was found that Begadung Island has indeed has authenticity, beauty and treasure, potential for tourism development. Tourists have started come for visits. Therefore, protection through ecotourism is very necessary. Further study is needed regarding the development of the potential of the Begadung Island region

From Nature Tourism to Ecotourism: Assessing the Ecotourism Principles Fulfillment of Tourism Natural Areas in Bangka Belitung

Bangka Belitung is being transformed into a tourism destination area, relying on nature tourism. But unfortunately, the development of nature tourism does not include the development of ecotourism, even though these two things are interrelated. Nature tourism which is a mainstay of the tourism sector provides a very wide opportunity to strengthen ecotourism as part of the environmental movement in Bangka Belitung. This research aims to find out how the fulfillment of the ecotourism principles of tourism natural areas in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Indonesia, and identifying unique things related to the application of these principles. Through quantitative research methods with a survey approach that is strengthened by field observations, this research found that assessed from 5 interval categories of the ecotourism principles fulfillment, 58% of the tourism areas in Bangka Belitung were included in the category of fulfilled of the ecotourism principles and 42% were in the strongly fulfilled category of the ecotourism principles. The research also found that although the application of each principle was met, there were unique and interesting notes on each principle.
