“…The plasma NEFA and AST levels reported by Khaled et al [32] in dairy goats and by Sadjadian et al [30] in SA goats were in the range of the present study; however, they reported lower glucose (3.32 and 2.89 mmol/L, respectively) and BUN (8.87 and 8.08 mmol/L, respectively) levels with a similar total protein concentration (71.19 and 74.52 g/L, respectively). The AST concentration reported in the present study is greater than those reported by Omidi et al [34] in Persian wild goats, and lower than the values reported by Perez et al [35] in Spanish ibex. Many reasons may explain the AST high variability, considering that under the term "AST" we summarize several iso-enzymes found in liver, cardiac and skeletal muscles, kidneys, brain, lungs, pancreas, leucocytes, and erythrocytes [36].…”

“…Serum urea concentrations in the animals of group 1 were found higher than the reference values ( Omidi et al, 2018 ). Elevated urea production, decreased urea elimination, or a combination of the two can produce increased plasma/serum urea ( Higgins, 2016 ).…”

“…BS, TG, Cho, Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance (HOMA‐IR index) (formula 1), and Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA 1C ) levels were measured using Pars Azmun kits (made in Iran), the enzymatic colorimetric assay method, and BS 380 (made by Mindray company) (Omidi et al, 2018). The insulin was measured using the Swedish Mercodia kit and GLUT4 using the Swedish Cusabio kit, and Microplate Reader (MPR4+) made by Hiperion company (Lazarus et al, 2020; Pushparaj et al, 2007).…”
