The ability to do business successfully and to stay on the market is a unique feature of each company ensured by highly engaged and high-quality employees. Therefore, innovative leaders able to manage, motivate, and encourage other employees can be a great competitive advantage of an enterprise. Knowledge of important personality factors regarding leadership, incentives and stimulus, systematic assessment, and subsequent motivation factors are parts of human capital and essential conditions for effective development of its potential. Familiarity with various ways to motivate leaders and their implementation in practice are important for improving the work performance and reaching business goals. Pearson’s chi-square test is used to test correlation between the motivation factors relating to career aspiration and education. Following the research results, the fact that there is dependence between the motivation factors relating to career aspiration and completed education can be stated. The motivation factors relating to career aspiration are important, even very important for highly educated employees and employees with upper secondary education. Following the research results, the fact that the requirements and expectations relating to career aspiration are more demanding when the education completed by employees is higher is confirmed.

Nowadays, several of the global challenges we are facing include the fast pace of life and rapidly occurring changes, therefore when interacting with this changeable life environment it is important for the young people to self-develop, self-manage, as well as be themselves in charge of their personal change and career management. This article studies the latest scientific trends, providing scientific justification to the student readiness for their career self-management. In the process of developing this justification, it was essential to understand the criteria and indicators for the student readiness for their career self-management, in order for the young people to be able to self-assess the said readiness during their entire lifetime. Therefore the aim of the study was to develop the theoretical foundations for the term “student readiness for career self-management” within the context of general secondary education, including both criteria and indicators for the assessment which could in its turn become a methodological foundation for developing methodology for the readiness for career self-management. As a result of this study, the theoretical findings from the scientific literature on the essence and readiness for career self-management were gathered, examined, analysed, systemized and evaluated.

The aims of Vocational Colleges (VCs) are to give training and impart necessary skills leading to the production of craftsmen who will be enterprising and self-reliant. Many developing countries face the problem of unemployment among graduates; this may not be far from curricula modules mismatching job requirements. The scenario of low participation of private sector in skills development of graduates exists in Nigeria as a result of which the needs of local industries is not met. The objective of this paper is to compare the curriculum framework, courses/subjects-matter, aims, modes of transaction, and evaluation strategies in VCs in Malaysia and Nigeria. The methodology used in this study involved gathering previous studies on comparative analysis in education through Google Scholar, Science Direct, and JSTOR. Related Procedia were also retrieved from Elsevier. Literatures show that students have to adapt with 21 st century knowledge, skills, innovative practice and competence as key points to job creation and wealth generation. The findings of this paper show that the curriculum structures in VCs in Malaysia are more updated than in Nigeria. However, curricula in VCs in Malaysia and Nigeria still need some improvements in entrepreneurship skills. This is necessary for effective transmission of knowledge and skills from school to work environment in the 21st century.
