Zusammenfassung Der Autor versucht, sich dem Textbegriff von der Maschinellen Übersetzung her zu nähern. Dazu stellt er fest daß die bisherigen Untersuchungen von Texten die Maschinelle Übersetzung kaum vorangebracht haben. Der einzige erfolgversprechende Ansatz scheint in der Sublanguage-Forschung zu liegen, wie die Arbeiten von N. Sager bzw. die Entwicklung von TAUM-METEO gezeigt haben. Der Autor skizziert eine Fortsetzung dieser Arbeiten auf der Grundlage des Saarbrücker Übersetzungssystems SUSY (vgl. Multilingua 1 -4). Er entwirft eine für die Maschinelle Übersetzung relevante Text-Klassifikation und beleuchtet einige mithilfe von Sublanguages zu lösende Probleme. Abstract The author tries to approach text typology from the angle of machine translation. He notes that previous text analyses have scarcely advanced machine translation at all. The only promising approach appears to be in sublanguage research, as demonstrated in the work of N. Sager and the development of TAUM-METEO. The author outlines a follow-up to this work on the basis of the Saarbrücken translation system SUSY (see Multilingua 1 -4). He devises a system of text typology relevant for the purpose of machine translation and examines some of the problems that can be solved with the aid of sublanguages.
