“…The 27 Al NMR spectrum shows just a signal at 53 ppm typically assigned to tetrahedral aluminium atoms suggesting the formation of Bronsted groups, because of the formation of Al-O-Si bonds in the structure. [35][36][37] The presence of this aluminium confers more acidic properties to the S-Al material compared with the S and S-NaF materials. 38 The nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms and BJH distributions for hosts are shown on Figure 3.…”

“…The supports employed were MCM-41 mesoporous silica ; that doped with zirconium (Zr-MCM) ; SBA-15 mesoporous silica (Gómez-Cazalilla et al, 2007); SBA doped with zirconium (Zr-SBA) and aluminium (Al-SBA) (Gómez-Cazalilla et al, 2007). Finally a commercial -Al2O3 was also employed as reference.…”

“…The use of SBA-15 as a support for hydrotreating catalysts has presented several advantages with regard to HMS and MCM-41 mesoporous solids, since SBA-15 material has thicker pore walls and better hydrothermal stability, which are very important properties in hydrotreating processes due to the severe reaction conditions employed (Vradman et al, 2003). Recently, Gómez Cazalilla et al (Gómez-Cazalilla et al, 2007) have proposed a cheap sol-gel synthesis route for SBA-15 and aluminium doped SBA-15, with sodium silicate as the silica source. The resulting materials have shown interesting properties as catalyst supports in hydrotretating reactions (Gómez-Cazallila et al, 2009a.…”

“…The synthesis of the SBA-15 support was carried out according to the route reported by Gómez-Cazalilla et al (2007). Thus, 25 g Pluronic were dissolved in 1 ᐉ of 0.4 M sulphuric acid solution and the resulting mixture maintained under gentle stirring at room temperature for 24 h. Then, 1 g sodium hydroxide was supplied for pH adjustment, followed by the dropwise addition of sodium silicate solution (66.4 mᐉ sodium silicate in 920 mᐉ distilled water) under mild stirring, which was continued for 5 d as the gel particles were formed.…”
