Charge Transport Property of Mesoporous Silica Thin Films Incorporated with Gold Nanoparticles

Abstract: Highly ordered mesoporous silica thin films (MSTFs) were spin-coated on Si wafers by self-assemble of water-soluble nanocrystal micelles with soluble silica. The gold nanoparticles (GNPs) were assembled within the silica matrix. Based on this nanocomposite, nanoscale electrodes were fabricated to form single electron devices. Two main transport behaviors of resemblant Coulomb blockage were demonstrated in the current-voltage measurements. The Coulomb island size calculated from the current-voltage data was clo… Show more

“…Thus, it provides opportunities in nanodevice fabrication. [3][4][5][6][7][8] The single electron transistor (SET) is one of the most investigated nanodevices in recent years. [9][10][11][12][13] The photolithography, electron-beam lithography (EBL), electronbeam evaporation, and lift-off procedures are commonly used techniques in SET production.…”

“…10 11 In the past few decades, extensively exploration in zeolite applications in chemical industry brings breakthrough in noble metal supported catalyst. [12][13][14] The zeolite affords large surface area, uniform pore diameter, and adjustable acidic strength when it used as catalyst support. For example, for propane dehydrogenation reaction, Beta, L-zeolite, Y-zeolite, SBA-15, ZSM-5, SAPO-34 were used as catalyst support instead of -Al 2 O 3 and these zeolite-based Pt catalysts were reported to be much more active, selective and stable than the classical Al 2 O 3 based catalysts.…”
