When publishing data, data licences are used to specify the actions that are permitted or prohibited, and the duties that target data consumers must comply with. However, in complex environments such as a smart city data portal, multiple data sources are constantly being combined, processed and redistributed. In such a scenario, deciding which policies apply to the output of a process based on the licences attached to its input data is a difficult, knowledgeintensive task. In this paper, we evaluate how automatic reasoning upon semantic representations of policies and of data flows could support decision making on policy propagation. We report on the results of a user study designed to assess both the accuracy and the utility of such a policy-propagation tool, in comparison to a manual approach.

Technological development in communications and electronics has made the growing expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is expected to make a great impact to our society because smart devices in IoT are easily integrated into existing service. As a result, standardization of technologies to support the IoT is becoming more important to realize a smart society through different service domains. This paper presents a survey on the current state of the art of standards for IoT technologies and gives a brief introduction to related standards and recent research areas in IoT. Finally, it also proposes an idea of the future platform of scalable IoT systems. The proposed idea employs IP mobility technologies to realize inter-operability among IoT devices in different networks.

Abstract-During the last decade, enormous volumes of urban data have been produced by the Government agencies, the NGOs and the citizens. In such a scenario, we are presented with a diverse set of data which holds valuable information. This information can be extracted and analyzed and have a number of usages for the well-being of citizens. The major impediment to achieve this goal is the data itself, the available data are redundant, scattered and come with various legacy formats. Data interoperability, scalability and integration are paramount issues which could not be resolved unless the scattered data silos are accessible with a standard representation. In this paper, we propose a framework that resolves the data interoperability and associated challenges in the smart city environment. The framework takes the raw smart city data from several resources and stores them in a NoSQL database. The framework transforms the scattered data into machine-processable data. Besides, the database is linked with an API and simple dashboard for further analysis, which can be utilized to build big data applications based on urban data so that government agencies can get a summarized overview of resource distribution.
