Solar simulator is used to analysis characteristic of the solar cells. The non-uniformity is its major performance. The traditional non-uniformity measurement calls single detector method. The paper’s objective is to design and construct an array detector scanning system and to determine the optimal scanning time to achieve the lowest uncertainty. To investigate the non-uniformity by our proposed method and the traditional method, our detector consisted of eight photodiodes mounted on an arm of a linear motion lead screw to guide the detector scaning onto the lighting area. A microcontroller applied for controling and measuring light irradiance in 64 points corresponding to IEC 60904-9 standard. The results showed that the array detector scanned at a speed of 33.33 mm/s to obtain the non-uniformity with the lowest uncertainty, less than 0.6%. Analysis results of the non-uniformity obtained from our system on the test areas of (mm×mm) 156×156, 166×166 and 200×200 compared with the single detector. It showed that the mean absolute error was 1.27. Our system provided a lower uncertainty than the traditional method. The measurement accuracy was acceptable. The advantage is for testing on different test areas within a single device. The measurement time is around 1/32 of the traditional method.

The accelerated modern day urban development is accompanied by an increasing production of solid waste. While managing solid waste on an industrial scale presents different technological challenges, managing household waste requires decentralized solutions dealing with the associated logistic and technical difficulties. In this review, we identify the research trends on household waste recycling by providing a brief description of the main technologies, and the traditional formats commonly used for solid waste (SW) separation. We identify two main threads: the SW management systems within a smart city framework and the design of domestic waste classification systems based on intelligent mechanisms tailored to user psychology. Among the main conclusions, we verify a growing interest in the subject of SW separation in domestic applications, mainly through solutions based on automation and internet of things (IoT). Also, we detected a increasing interest in the analysis of psychological aspects and in citizen education in relation to the importance of recycling, since without this notion the success of proposed solutions might be limited.

Solid waste recycling and management cost optimization algorithm

Solid waste is a major issue in today's world. Which can be a contributing factor to pollution and the spread of vector-borne diseases. Because of its complicated nonlinear processes, this problem is difficult to model and optimize using traditional methods. In this study, a mathematical model was developed to optimize the cost of solid waste recycling and management. In the optimization phase, the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) is utilized to determine the level of discarded solid waste and reclaimed solid waste. An optimization technique SSA is a new method of finding the ideal solution for a mathematical relationship based on leaders and followers. It takes a lot of random solutions, as well as their outward or inward fluctuations, to find the optimal solution. This method also included multiple adaptive and random variables to guarantee that the solution space was explored and used in various optimization tasks. When all criteria are considered, the results of this study show that the SSA is efficient for least-distance path allocation. The simulation findings reveal a significant improvement over the well-known particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, with recycling and disposal costs decreasing by 10% to 30%.
