Clinical guideline: management of the first unprovoked epileptic seizure in adults and children

Abstract: Unprovoked seizures represent a challenge in the neurological clinical consult. Identifying a first unprovoked seizure is the first step for an adequate medical approach, for which there are different diagnostic tools that help establish the risk of a second seizure, as well as recurrence factors for a first unprovoked epileptic seizure (UES) or diagnose epilepsy.
