“…In the UK, CTFs are mostly employed on a one year contract and have responsibility for teaching undergraduate medical students in hospitals [3], although a small number of posts may be based at universities [4]. CTF job descriptions vary in the amount of time dedicated to clinical work alongside teaching responsibilities, and in terms of other duties within the role including research, student pastoral support, and obtaining postgraduate qualifications related to education [3,[5][6][7].
