Colonization with Group B streptococcus and Ureaplasma urealyticum among parturient women in Poland and Ukraine

Abstract: J. Skręt-Magierło).Group B streptococcus (GBS) and Ureaplasma urealyticum colonization are common among women during pregnancy. A recommendation for GBS screening and prophylaxis was introduced in Poland in 2009. Data from Poland before the recommendation revealed that the incidence of GBS colonization in parturient women was 19% and transmission to the fetus was 21% [1].
