Color-encoded single-shot computer-generated Moiré profilometry

Abstract: A color-encoded single-shot computer-generated Moiré profilometry (CSCGMP) is proposed. Two sinusoidal gratings with a π phase difference are encoded in red and blue channels respectively to combine a composite color grating. While this composite color grating is projected onto the measured object, the corresponding color deformed pattern can be captured. So two deformed patterns with a π phase difference are separated from its red and blue components respectively. After normalization and subtraction, the AC c… Show more

“…They implemented an enhanced morphological component analysis method to separate texture and fringe patterns from a single RGB fringe pattern, and this method achieved better performance than the traditional single-pattern methods. Zhang et al [35] combined two fringe patterns with a phase shift of π into the red and blue channels to form a single colorcoded pattern. Then, the captured color-coded pattern can be used to extract two Moiré patterns [36] for retrieving phase information.…”

“…Recently, our group proposed several types of computer-generated Moiré profilometry (CGMP) 18 22 These methods inherit the advantages of the high-precision measuring characteristics of PMP and single-shot measuring characteristics of FTP, but their measuring accuracy is not selectable. In order to maintain the characteristics of single-shot real-time measurement while making its measuring accuracy selectable as appropriate N, a single-shot N-step phase measuring profilometry (single-shot N-PMP) was proposed, 23 which is a single-shot method with the highest accuracy among the single-shot 3D measurements so far in the inheritance of the traditional optional N-step PMP.…”
