Optimizing the efficiency of the in vitro fertilization procedure by improving pregnancy rates and reducing the risks of multiple pregnancies simultaneously are the primary goals of the current assisted reproductive technology program. With the move to single embryo transfers, the need for more cost-effective and noninvasive methods for embryo selection prior to transfer is paramount. These aims require advancement in a more acquire gametes/embryo testing and selection procedures using high-tech devices. Therefore, the aim of the present review is to evaluate the efficacy of noninvasive imaging systems in the current literatures, focusing on the potential clinical application in infertile patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology treatments. In this regards, three advanced imaging systems of motile sperm organelle morphology examination, polarization microscopy and time-lapse monitoring for the best selection of the gametes and preimplantation embryos are introduced in full.

Background: Reduced fertilization and implantation rates have been recognized by various research efforts to be a critical issue in cases of teratospermia, globospermia, and megalospermia affecting the IVF-ICSI management cycles rates of success. A real-time and high-magnification technique for selection of sperms together using a micromanipulation technique named intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection was observed by prior research efforts to have higher effectiveness than the traditional intracytoplasmic sperm injection Aim: to investigate the detailed sperm morphological features affect the outcome of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).Methodology: The research study cohort was composed of the male partners of 140 random couples referred for ICSI treatment Inclusive research criteria involved females younger than 37 years old and more than 3 retrieved ovum per management cycle. ICSI Procedure: Indications for ICSI have been as follows poor (less than 20%) or no (0%) fertilization in the first IVF cycle, immotile sperms, and low percentage of normally formed sperms (less than 4%) the motile sperm fractions have been prepared for ICSI management cycle from sperm ejaculated using the swim-up method cases of oligospermia (sperm concentration less than 15 *106 sperms /mL the densitygradient technique was used .Sperm selection for microinjection was conducted at a magnification of 200*400 the embryologist have excluded sperms from microinjection into the ovum those having severe head-shape abnormalities Result: Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) for MSOME (%) as a predictors of (A) normal fertilization as regards normal spermatozoa at cut off point >2, AUC =0.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a widely used and accepted treatment of choice for oocyte fertilization. However, the quality of sperm selection depends on the accurate visualization of the morphology, which can be achieved with a high image resolution. We aim to correct the conviction, shown in a myriad of publications, that an ultra-high magnification in the range of 6000×–10,000× can be achieved with an optical microscope. The goal of observing sperm under the microscope is not to simply get a larger image, but rather to obtain more detail—therefore, we indicate that the optical system’s resolution is what should be primarily considered. We provide specific microscope system setup recommendations sufficient for most clinical cases that are based on our experience showing that the optical resolution of 0.5 μm allows appropriate visualization of sperm defects. Last but not least, we suggest that mixed research results regarding the clinical value of IMSI, comparing to ICSI, can stem from a lack of standardization of microscopy techniques used for both ICSI and IMSI.
