“…Naturally, a mature cystic teratoma without hemorrhagic infarction also forms gravity-dependent layering. 5 However, it is important to note that changes in the state of the cyst contents definitely occurred over a short period, which was highly suggestive of hemorrhagic infarction; and this fi nding was visualized in the successive abdominal radiograph in the present case. The fi nding of changes in the state of the cyst contents in successive abdominal radiographs, particularly those obtained in an upright position, may also be a helpful fi nding of hemorrhagic infarction of a mature cystic teratoma.…”

“…3 Cystic teratomas are also called dermoid cysts. The term dermoid emCorrespondence to: K. Rathod phasizes the preponderance of ectodermal tissue, with some mesodermal and rare endodermal derivatives.…”

“…It is lined with a squamous epithelium and occurs in various skin appendages, such as sebaceous glands, hair follicles, and sweat glands (6). Ninety‐seven percent of the cases of ovarian mature cystic teratomas contain sebaceous material (1, 2). The central cavity of the dermoid is typically filled with homogenous hypoattenuating fluid material in CT. Alternatively, the cyst may be heterogeneous because of the various germinal components.…”

“…We were able to define the fat content within the cystic tumor by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. The presence of fat within an intra‐abdominal cystic mass is suggestive of a dermoid cyst (mature cystic teratoma), cystic lymphangioma, or lymphocele (1–5). The pathologic diagnosis revealed the presence of a cystic lymphangioma, which originated from the mesentery.…”
