Concordance of Time-of-Flight MRA and Digital Subtraction Angiography in Adult Primary Central Nervous System Vasculitis

Abstract: BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: 3D-TOF-MRA and DSA are 2 available tools to demonstrate neurovascular involvement in primary central nervous system vasculitis. We aimed to compare the diagnostic concordance of vessel imaging using 3D-TOF-MRA and DSA in patients with primary central nervous system vasculitis.

“…Similarly, a previous literature found 3D TOF MRA could be alternative tool to cDSA for follow-up of coiled intracranial aneurysms. 8 9 The precise diagnosis of 3D TOF MRA was related to the size of the aneurysm. 3D TOF MRA had limitation to detect the small aneurysm (≤3 mm) from several literature.…”

“…The BB technique shows the blood within vessels in black, enabling identification of the vessel lumen. 3D TOF angiography technique is helpful in the luminal vessel contour assessment and performed in 1.5 Tesla MRA is comparable to digital subtraction angiography [ 9 , 24 ]. MRI signs of vasculitis such as focal and longitudinal narrowing, vascular alternating narrowing and dilatation (VAND), and stenoses were identified and counted.…”
