“…However, most of the probes are still insufficient in sensitivity and not easy to be recycled and suffer from high solubility and high toxicity, which may lead to secondary pollution of the environment. [18][19][20][21][22] Therefore, it is particularly urgent to develop new materials that can be recycled and have the function of detecting metal ions in water with high sensitivity. Such new materials are not only of great significance for the maintenance of human health and environmental safety, but also help to realize the sustainable use of resources, and have a far-reaching impact on the promotion of scientific and technological progress in related fields.…”

“…MOFs are used in environmental applications, specically focusing on the photodegradation of organic dyes. 91 The rst report on the adsorption of methyl orange (MO) by a MOF was published in 2010, while the photocatalytic performance for phenol degradation was documented in 2007. [92][93][94][95] The photodegradation process has a certain edge compared to the adsorption process due to its high efficiency and complete degradation of the target product.…”

“…Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as a novel catalyst material with competitive advantage derived from the designable framework structures and pore dimensions via precise control of secondary building units (SBUs) and bridging ligands. Well-defined molecular catalysts can be introduced into the skeletons to design MOF materials with specific functions. To date, the incorporation of photocatalysts or transition metal catalysts into MOFs has been successfully applied to the organic transformations, , water splitting, and CO 2 reduction . For example, based on an all-in-one strategy developed by our group, the hierarchical assembly of Pd(II) sites and Cu(II) species or Ir photosensitizers into a single UiO-67 framework effectively accelerated the fast reoxidation of Pd(0) species, thus enhancing the Pd(II)-catalyzed oxidation performance. , As a continuing research interest in Pd(II)-catalyzed oxidation, heterogeneous Pd catalysts with exposed active sites and low mass diffusion resistance for sterically hindered organic oxidation reaction (even total organic synthesis) are highly desired.…”
