Coupling Coordination and Spatiotemporal Dynamic Evolution Between Green Urbanization and Green Finance: A Case Study in China

Abstract: This study constructed a comprehensive index system and employed a coupling coordination degree model, global spatial autocorrelation models, and local spatial autocorrelation models to quantitatively investigate the spatiotemporal characteristics and dynamic mechanism of the coupling coordination relationship between green urbanization and green finance in China during 2010–2017. The results showed that the level of green urbanization and green finance improved over the study period, but the development of gr… Show more

“…Yang et al (2014) [ 31 ] constructed sustainable building development indicators under the framework of Press-Status-Response (PSR) and used the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to reduce the dimensionality of the indicators. Based on the existing literature, this paper sets up the green development level of the construction industry in each province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the central government) from three aspects: industrial scale, industrial benefit, and ecological benefit.…”

“…In addition, a coupling coordination degree (CCD) model could well reflect the mutual influence and coordinated development of the two systems [ 52 , 53 ], which has been widely used to analyze the coupling coordination relationship between urban development and the environment [ 44 , 45 , 46 , 47 ]. It is also suitable for analyzing the relationship between UDI and ECC.…”

“…In China, researchers observed the positive impact of the new media environment and better firm valuation when data was taken from most polluting industries in 2014-2017 (Fan et al, 2020). However, the impact of green finance policies is lacking continuity in China due to different emission regulations for multiple financial conditions and firm size (such as SMEs) and increase in carbon intensity, impeded use and expansion of non-fossil energy that needs improvement, implementation of green credit policy, rating system, legal supervision and development of green finance in comparison with green urbanization (Dong et al, 2021).…”
