Objetivo do estudo: Este estudo tem como objetivo determinar o papel mediador da regulação emocional cognitiva no efeito da percepção da morte e do medo da COVID-19 vivenciada por funcionários do setor de turismo em seu sofrimento psíquico.Metodologia/abordagem: A pesquisa é um estudo transversal de métodos quantitativos de pesquisa. Os dados da pesquisa foram coletados e analisados com a ajuda de escalas dos funcionários do setor de turismo que operam em Antalya e Muğla, que são as regiões turísticas da Turquia.Originalidade/ Relevância: Mostra que a capacidade de regulação cognitiva da emoção é importante para os trabalhadores do turismo que trabalham em contato próximo com turistas de diferentes partes do mundo e carregam diferentes variantes de doenças infecciosas para lidar com seu sofrimento psicológico.Principais resultados: Os resultados da pesquisa mostram que a regulação cognitiva da emoção prediz sofrimento psicológico. Outra descoberta mostra que a regulação das emoções cognitivas reduz a percepção de morte e medo da COVID-19 e que um estado psicológico também afeta o outro.Contribuições teórico-metodológicas: Na pesquisa, pode-se argumentar que examinar as quatro variáveis relacionadas ao estado psicológico dos funcionários do setor de turismo que vêm de várias partes do mundo e interagem com pessoas portadoras de diferentes vírus de doenças (hoje varíola dos macacos) fará com que uma contribuição significativa para a literatura, prática e método.

Background During the COVID‐19 pandemic period, the level of anxiety and the duration of social media use increased in university students. Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between coronavirus anxiety and social media addiction in university students. Methods The sample consisted of 346 university students in Turkey. The data were collected online using the Sociodemographic Data Form, the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale Short Form and the Social Network Addiction Scale. The data were analysed using one‐way analysis of variance, Mann–Whitney U test, Pearson correlation analysis, chi‐square analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Results The results showed that the mean coronavirus anxiety score was higher in men than in women. Social media addiction increased as the daily time spent by the students on social media increased. A positive correlation was found between the daily time spent on social media before the pandemic and social media usage during the pandemic. It was concluded that students use social media more during the pandemic than before it and that social media addiction increases as the students' coronavirus anxiety increases. Conclusion It is important to plan initiatives to reduce coronavirus anxiety to prevent social media addiction in young people. Study Location and Sample The research population consisted of 1st and 2nd year students who are studying in the Medical Services and Techniques Department of Vocational School of Health Services at a university located in the west of Turkey, during the Fall Term of academic year 2020–2021. Students in this department are studying in anaesthesia, dialysis, first and emergency aid, medical laboratory techniques, medical imaging technique, and medical documentation and secretarial programmes.

Amaç: Sağlık hizmetine ihtiyacın arttığı pandemi döneminde, sağlık merkezleri bulaş riskine açık yerler haline geldiğinden elektif işlemler ertelenmiş, sağlık merkezleri pandemi koşullarına uygun şekilde çalışmaya başlandı. Birçok alanda olduğu gibi diş hekimliği alanı da COVID-19 pandemisinden etkilendi. Bu çalışmanın amacı; COVID-19 pandemisinin diş hekimliği öğrencilerinin kariyer ve uzmanlık eğitimi planlarına etkisini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya anket formunu eksiksiz dolduran 259 diş hekimliği öğrencisi dahil edildi. Hazırlanan anket internet ortamında Google Forms kullanılarak katılımcılara ulaştırıldı.
