Current- and voltage-mode third-order quadrature oscillator

Abstract: In this paper a current-and voltage-mode thirdorder quadrature oscillator circuit using current and voltage conveyors is presented. The features of the new circuit are the oscillation frequency control non-interactive to the condition of oscillation, the use of only grounded passive elements, and the possibility of both quadrature current and voltage outputs. Using the CMOS implementation of the active elements, Spice simulation results are given to verify and demonstrate the performance of the new oscillator.

“…Authors used this amplifier as a part of CMOS electronically tunable CC. The voltage buffer and inverter were extracted from CMOS transistor implementation of universal voltage conveyor presented by Koton et al . An equation for current gain was noted in , and it is also valid for model that was introduced by us: B=NIb22ISET_BIb2IitalicSET_B,where N means multiplication ratio of the current mirrors formed by M 8 –M 9 and M 10 –M 11 .…”

“…In ref. [16], authors have been presented third-order quadrature oscillator using two second generation current conveyors, a UVC, three capacitors and three resistors. However, to the best of the knowledge and belief of the author, none of the SRCOs using single UVC has yet been presented in the literature so far.…”
