This article explores the potential of green hydrogen for the development of the global hydrogen economy. The aim of the article is to investigate the essence of "green hydrogen" and the possibilities of its production and use in industrial sectors, which will enable the formation of a future global hydrogen economy independent of traditional fossil energy resources. The article discusses methods of green hydrogen production, its use in the transportation, industry, and energy sectors, as well as the benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of a hydrogen economy. Green hydrogen is produced by splitting water using renewable energy sources, making it an environmentally friendly fuel source. Research shows that green hydrogen can become an important component of the transition to low-carbon technologies, contributing to reducing carbon emissions, creating a sustainable and efficient energy system, and positively impacting the formation of climate neutrality. Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing and implementing hydrogen technologies in transportation, as this sector is considered one of the most harmful to the environment due to carbon emissions. Today, leading transport companies are developing prototypes and testing hydrogen vehicles in freight transport, railways, air and sea transport, as well as in automobile manufacturing. Infrastructure for the hydrogen economy is actively developing -plants for the production of clean hydrogen are being built, reservoirs for its storage and pipelines for transportation are being constructed. To support the development of the hydrogen economy at the national and international levels, a number of regulatory documents have been adopted, regulating the principles of low-carbon development and hydrogen transformation in all areas of public life. Thus, the research offers a new perspective on the hydrogen economy and opens up new opportunities for the development of sustainable energy based on green hydrogen.
