Cutting Mechanics of Turning with Actively Driven Rotary Tool

Abstract: In this paper, turning with actively driven rotary tool method was investigated. The main purpose of the present work is to examine influences of machining conditions especially the tool rotational speed and direction upon the cutting force components, the chip formation and the cutting temperature. Experimental results show that cutting temperature decreases with an increase in the tool rotational speed in a certain speed range.
