The endoparasitic nematode, Bursaphelenchus crenati, in beetle tunnels of Hylesinus crenatus from the ash Fraxinus excelsior L. with signs of ash dieback, is recorded for the first time in Central Russia and Belarus. Third‐stage dauer juveniles were extracted from the bark beetle, H. crenatus, and cultured on Botrytis cinerea. Morphological, morphometric and molecular analyses of these populations are presented here. Some morphological differences of dauers and adults were found between Belarusian and Russian populations, which may be attributed to seasonal variations. For description of new Bursaphelenchus species, it is recommended to indicate not only the number of lateral incisures but also the number of bands. Recommendations are made to classify the male caudal papillae of Bursaphelenchus into two groups: papilliform and gland papillae with separate numerals. Emended diagnosis, tabular diagnostic polytomous key for the species of Sexdentati group with lists of their vectors and plants, is given. Phylogenetic relationships between some species of the Sexdentati group are also presented based on the analysis of partial 18S, ITS and 28S rRNA gene sequences.

Myctolaimus platypi sp. n. is described and figured. The third-stage dauer juveniles of M. platypi sp. n. were isolated from the underside of the elytra of the oak borer, Platypus quercivorus, and were reared on an Asparagine-Mannitol (A-M) agar. Specimens of adult nematodes for description and measurements were collected from a 2-week-old culture on A-M agar. The new species is characterised by having the stoma shorter than the pro-metacorpus, shape of the rounded-cylindroid pro-metacorpus, the obvious longitudinal striations on the cuticle, and thick cuticle. The male and female of the new species have a body length of ca 700-1000 µm, a value of ca 20, b value of ca 6, and c value of ca 10. Males of the new species have strongly arcuate, C-shaped spicules 71 (62-80) µm long, 29 (25-35) µm long gubernaculum with pointed distal end, and nine pairs of caudal papillae. There is no bursa. Ceratosolenus is proposed as a junior synonym of Myctolaimus and the following new combinations are also proposed: M. anoplophorae comb. n.; M. inevectus comb. n.; and M. racemosa comb. n.

In 1964, Paramonov added the genus Protocylindrocorpus for the unique, long-spiculed species C. goodeyi Rühm, 1959 andAndrássy (1984) added the genus Myctolaimellus for C. walkeri Hunt, 1980. The synonymy of Cylindrocorpus with Myctolaimus Cobb is not accepted here since Andrássy (1984) ignored the fact that a bursa is absent in Myctolaimus, as explicitly stated by Cobb (1920).…”

Cylindrocorpus inevectus sp. n. (Cylindrocorporidae: Nematoda) is described from oil palm owers (Elaeis guineensis Jacquin) and from the under surface of the elytra of the oil palm weevil, Elaeidobius kamerunicus (Faust) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Malaysia. Cylindrocorpus inevectus sp. n. differs from previously described species in the genus (as de ned in the present study) by apparently having only eight pairs of genital papillae in contrast to nine or ten pairs. In addition, the male of the new species differs from C. macrolaimus (Schneider) and C. longistoma (Stefanski) by possessing a very short tail spine. The degree of stoma coverage by the pharyngeal sleeve is suggested as an important character and is 77% in C. longistoma but 91% in C. inevectus sp. n. In the male of C. erectus the bursa does not encircle the tail tip and the tail is much stouter than that of C. inevectus sp. n. In addition, there are only two pairs of pre-anal papillae and two pairs of dorso-lateral post-anal papillae in C. erectus but three pairs of pre-anal papillae and only one pair of dorso-lateral post-anal papillae in C. inevectus sp. n. From C. curzii the new species differs in having the bursal membrane continuing around the tail tip with only two pairs of pre-anal papillae reaching the bursal rim. A key to the genera of the Cylindrocorporidae is provided and Myctolaimus rif ei (Massey & Hinds, 1970) comb. n. is proposed. Because of their parasitic association with vertebrates and morphological characters distinct from those of the saprophagic Cylindrocorporidae,such as the corpus merging with the isthmus, the absence of a valve in the corpus, a posteriorly located vulva, the presence of lateral alae, a reduced number of genital papillae and ovoviviparousnature, members of the genus Longibucca, previously placed in the Cylindrocorporidae,are placed in the new family Longibuccidae fam. n.
