Decentralized Electric Vehicle Supply Stations (D-EVSSs): A Realistic Scenario for Smart Cities

Abstract: In this paper, we consider the decentralization of power generation and management problems in electric vehicle supply equipment (D-EVSE). We propose two algorithms to manage the interaction between electric vehicles (EVs) and D-EVSEs while maximizing EV drivers' satisfaction in terms of reducing the waiting time for charging or discharging services and minimizing the stress level for D-EVSEs. The first algorithm is used to schedule charging or discharging service for EVs. The second algorithm is used to manag… Show more

“…EV charging price strategies are studied in [14]- [20]. Other areas have been studied, such as minimizing the waiting time for EV charging [21], [22], discharging processes [23]- [25], and reducing EV's charging cost [26]. Another perspective is that the EVSE owners must also benefit [26], [27].…”

“…The goal of this study was how to organize the EV demand for charging and discharging services as a way to lower the power stress level as well as to increase the EV owner's satisfaction. Similarly, decentralization of power generation and management in the electric vehicle supply station (D-EVSS) is proposed in [33]. The proposed model introduced two schemes to organize the interaction between EV and the D-EVSS as a public supply station.…”
