Abstract:Antibiotics from the aminoglycoside group, such as gentamicin, are frequently used for the infection therapy of gram-negative bacteria including Salmonella typhi. Some studies show that gentamicin can cause hepatotoxicity and increase the level of SGPT (serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase).
