“…Follicular fluid E2 paralleled serum E2, demonstrating lower values in LE2 donor cycles. The follicular fluid E2 from our LE2 cycles is lower than previously reported normal ranges expected from preovulatory follicles: 530.05 ± 211.56 ng/mL [20] or 301.00-577.00 ng/mL [21]. However, decreased follicular fluid E2 did not correlate with poor fertilization, embryo quality, or pregnancy outcomes, consistent with prior findings by Foong et al [22] Follicular fluid progesterone levels were uniformly high and consistent with previously reported ranges from preovulatory follicles in oocyte donors: 7652 ± 3479 ng/mL [23].…”

“…The FF concentrations of hormones, prolactin, interleukin-1, inhibin B, tumour necrosis factor, free fatty acids and dehydroepiandrosterone have been associated with the rates of normal fertilisation and good embryo development and the quality of the embryos [10,18,19]. However, their predictive accuracy and sensitivity is very limited, and some reports did not replicate these findings [20,21].…”

“…Thus, on the one hand, DHEA is thought to be a key molecule in maintaining the critical balance between androgen and estrogen production, and on the other hand, it affects oocyte maturation. Li and his team found that DHEA in the FF correlated negatively with IVF clinical outcomes, specifically the number of oocytes retrieved, the fertilization rate, the number of viable embryos, and the number of blastocysts produced [19]. Our results showed that the DHEA level in small follicles was increased and correlated negatively with the oocyte maturation rate and the high-quality embryo rate, indicating that DHEA correlates negatively with follicular development, oocyte maturational status and embryo quality.…”
