Design, Analysis and Performance Study of PV-Wind-Diesel Generator Hybrid Power System for a Hilly Region Khagrachari of Bangladesh

Abstract: In this research paper, a hybrid power generation system considering Photovoltaic (PV), Wind Turbine and Diesel generator, has been proposed for a hilly region application. The method of this study was the assortment of the elementary data of wind speed, solar radiation and additional requisite input data. The electric renewable energy software hybrid optimization model of renewable energy (HOMER) has been used for design, analysis and performance study of the system. The model has been designed to deliver an … Show more

“…Although hybrid systems provide a promising alternative to single source energy system, the sizing of individual energy system and limited operational experience increases the design complexity. Various probabilistic and deterministic approaches have been used to develop models of hybrid systems to find optimum combination of the available resources and assess the system's performance [3][4][5][6]. This work evaluates the techno-economic feasibility of a hybrid system generating power for a small community using wind turbine and PV along with grid connection to further ensure uninterrupted power flow.…”

“…The Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) was too low (in the order of 0.1% or lower) and it could not be increased for more than 20 years (Holger et al 2004). In 1986, Tang developed bilayer hetero junction OSCs with a PCE of about 1% which is regarded as a major milestone for OSC (Tang C. et al 1986;Prodhan et al 2017;Cheyns et al 2010;You J. et al 2013).…”

“…Esta combinación puede aumentar la eficiencia de los sistemas frente a una única tecnología, proporcionando un mayor equilibrio en el suministro de energía y contrarrestando las variaciones en los recursos energéticos. Además, suelen mejorar los factores de carga y ahorrar costes de O& M (Bala & Siddique, 2009;Prodhan et al, 2017).…”
