Abstract-One of the topics of study and research that has been most discussed in recent years, it refers to wireless sensor networks (WSN), which are used in many fields such as agronomy, army and tracking disaster, usually the measurements are always performed outdoors. This article presents a design of a wireless sensor network and identification of key parameters in a closed environment, then a hybrid hierarchical architecture between Zigbee and RFID technologies is proposed. The design was applied in the research building of the District University "Francisco José de Caldas", however, the design can be applied to any building or closed room of the same characteristics.
