Design of triangular slot antenna for triple‐band (2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz) antenna with fork‐like tuning stub

Abstract: Larger value of bias current leads to lower carrier lifetime (see expression for N ) and hence lower RC time constant. The capacitor in Figure 1(a) is effective during transient, but plays no role to limit the steady values of gain.A typical plot of frequency response versus the frequency of the modulating current is shown in Figure 7. When no parasitic element is included, the bandwidth is as high as 1.59 GHz, when I bias ϭ 40 mA, I ac ϭ 10 mA, input power ϭ Ϫ35 dBm and carrier lifetime ϭ 100 ps. With decreas… Show more

“…Various types of slot antennas with wideband or multi-band performances have been developed using tuning techniques (Behdad and Sarabandi 2004;Chang, Liu, and Liu 2005;Yao, Zhong, Wang, and Liang 2005) or varying slot shapes (Liu, Lan, Xue, and Chan 2004;Schantz 2005;Jan and Hsiang 2006;Lin and Huang 2006;Jan and Kao 2007;Lui, Cheng, and Zhu 2007;Yoon et al 2007;Qing and Chen 2009). As the demands for higher data rates and better system performances for wireless services increase, more advanced techniques are needed in future.…”

“…3.1−10.6GHz, small size, good omni-directional radiation pattern, and stable gain. Unlike patch antennas, slot antennas [2][3][4][5][6] possess good characteristics such as wide impedance bandwidth, less copper losses, better isolation …etc. the main focus of these slot antenna designs is to enhance the impedance bandwidth that can be achieved by a widened slot and a fork like stub [3].…”

“…There are many challenges for designing UWB antenna include the ultra-wideband performance of the impedance matching, i.e., 3.1-10.6 GHz, small size, good omnidirectional radiation pattern, and stable gain. Unlike patch antennas, slot antennas [2][3][4][5][6] possess good characteristics such as wide impedance bandwidth, less copper losses, better isolation . .…”
