“…In the case of Rician fading, however, according to (20) and (21), y m,n and h m,n are not zero-mean because of the LOS component, and then the CDF of complex ratio distribution derived in [9] and [27] can no longer be applied. Thus, we introduce another method to calculate F Re,x m, n (λ, x) in the following.…”

“…The Rician channel is another important and more general channel model by the truth that there is likely to be a direct path component, i.e., the line of sight (LOS) path, in many practical environments. This phenomenon is strengthened with the trend toward higher frequency band usage [19] and in some specific communication scenarios expected in the future, such as D2D communications, where the beam width of the antenna and the distance between the transceivers may both be much limited [20], [21]. Therefore, in this study we aim to develop a general analytical framework for BEP evaluation that covers both Rayleigh and Rician fading, flat and doubly-selective channels, and FBMC-OQAM and OFDM systems.…”

“…Accurate channel models are always important for the design of wireless communication technologies and the evaluation of their performance. However, existing stochastic models such as theoretical geometry-based models [5]- [7], the 3GPP spatial channel model (SCM) [8], the WINNER II SCM enhanced (SCME) [9], and the models proposed in the series of European cooperative for scientific and technical research (COST) activities [10] focus more on micro and macro cellular scenarios, without considering the HST channels thoroughly. Recently, some models [11]- [14] have been proposed for vehicular communication channels observed in fast timevariant scenarios.…”

“…With respect to the coexistence of V2I and V2V links in vehicular networks, this scenario can easily be compared with D2D underlaying cellular networks, in which the D2D communication mode can be used to support V2V communications in order to increase the spectrum efficiency. However, because of the existence of unique vehicular scenarios [20][21][22] with highspeed vehicle mobility and fast time-variant channels, the traditional D2D mode cannot be adopted directly for V2V communications. Thus, significant modifications and improvements are needed.…”
