Abstract: Dorsal lesions in Dupuytren’s disease are rare and data concerning their epidemiology and management are sparse. We conducted a systematic review to summarize reported cases of dorsal Dupuytren’s disease. Pubmed, Cochrane, and Embase databases were searched from 1893 to 2018, and 17 articles were selected (525 patients). The male to female ratio was 3.8:1. “…Our study findings are almost in line with these research works. However, the cause of the minor differences between the present study and these pieces of research can be justified based on the number of articles reviewed in the present study which is higher (85 articles in the present study vs. 17 articles in the study of Carloni et al [ 76 ] and 23 articles in the study of Lanting et al [ 75 ]). Moreover, the present study examined patients with different races and geographical locations worldwide.…”

Also, Carloni et al [ 76 ], using a meta-analysis work, reported this rate as 1–5.9% [ 76 ]. Our study findings are almost in line with these research works.…”

“…Dupuytren’s disease is a progressive fibromatosis of the palm and flexor side of the hand with similar, but more rare manifestations located on the dorsal PIP joints as knuckle pads (aka Garrod’s nodules) [ 1 ] [ 2 ], at the foot sole as Ledderhose’s disease [ 3 ], or at the dorsum of the penis in Peyronie’s disease. As is customary, Dupuytren starts with nodular manifestation in the palm of the hand and might progress to a pretendinous cord with consecutive finger joint contracture.…”
