Dynamic Characteristics of Gear Coupling and Rotor System in Transmission Process Considering Misalignment and Tooth Contact Analysis

Abstract: The dynamic vibration of the gear coupling-rotor system (GCRS) caused by misalignment is an important factor of low frequency vibration and noise radiation of the naval marine. The axial misalignment of gear coupling is inevitable owing to mass eccentricity, and is unconstrained in axial direction at high-speed operation. Therefore, the dynamic model of GCRS is proposed, considering gear-coupling misalignment and contact force in this paper. The whole motion differential equation of GCRS is established based o… Show more

“…In this model, tooth chain contact force is used to simulate meshing transmission, and the meshing force is solved according to user-defined input gear parameters and used for meshing position [ 14 ]. With the change of tool normal tooth pitch and normal tooth Angle, the intersection of tool normal tooth pitch line and sprocket tooth groove symmetry line will change correspondingly, so the tool meshing position on the sprocket should be adjusted accordingly.…”

“…The parallel misalignment fault of a flexible coupling magnifies the displacement response at 2× amplitude, whereas the angular misalignment response is captured at 2× and 4× amplitudes [2]. Parallel and angular misalignments can both induce second-harmonic generation, but the influence of angular misalignment is more significant than that of parallel misalignment [3]. Cardan shaft misalignment causes an unbalanced force, which is the main load of bolt fatigue fracture of a high-speed train motor [4].…”

“…Moreover, the number of the hub teeth is the same as that of the sleeve teeth. Because of the advantages of compact structure, high loading capacity and wide speed range, crown gear couplings are widely used in high speed railway (Shinoda and Li, 2020), large ships (Fan et al, 2020), precision rolling machinery (Peng et al, 2018) and other equipment serving in complex working condition.…”
