“…Localizado en Michoacán, México, el Bosque Santuario de la Mariposa Monarca (BSMM) es un bosque urbano que ofrece el espectáculo único de observar a esta palomilla en su hábitat natural -al igual que, como se indicó anteriormente, el Desierto brinda la oportunidad excepcional de recorrer un antiguo monasterio, y el Parque Nacional Los Dinamos, la de pasear al lado del lugar donde fluye la corriente de agua perenne más destacada de la llamada Cuenca de México-. Un viaje por persona al BSMM fluctúa entre 14.6 dólares y 16.4 dólares -según se ha estimado empleando a la vez datos sobre el costo del viaje y el comportamiento contingente (Kido y Seidl, 2008;Kido, Seidl y Loomis, 2005;Pérez-Verdín et al, 2016)-. El valor estimado del viaje al BSMM es considerablemente más elevado que el de Los Dinamos, pero es virtualmente el mismo que el emprendido por uno de los tipos de visitantes del Desierto, así como suma que se aproxima a la mitad del valor del que lleva a cabo otro tipo de visitante de este último sitio.…”
