Show more

“…This is because a high-cholesterol diet can increase cholesterol synthesis in the liver through increasing the activity of the HMG-CoA enzyme, which is the catalyst of the first step in cholesterol biosynthesis, causing an increase in LDL cholesterol levels in the blood (Dean, 2013). This study is in line with research conducted by Venty (2017) where the result of his research stated that administration of 0.8 Ml OF vco/day to male white Wistar rats fed a high-cholesterol diet was able to reduce lipid profile.…”

“…The time range of VCO administration which is 1 week is assumed to be less significant in reducing TG levels. 1,8,13 The simvastatin-only group when compared to the positive control group showed an insignificant difference in the TG levels. The dose of simvastatin used in mice has also been converted using the Laurence and Bacharach conversion table, which is 0.2 mg/day.…”

“…Based on research by Augus Venty et al Provides the result that administration of Virgin coconut oil (VCO) from the species Cocos nucifera is known to be effective in preventing dyslipidemia in Rattus norvegicus in reducing CT, TG, and LDL levels and increasing HDL levels (p=0.05) compared to the control group with intervention for 28 days. The dose of VCO was 0.8 ml/200 gBB 15 . Based on another study conducted by Feti Fatimah and Barlina Rindengan, it has also been studied that administration of VCO emulsion diets can effectively improve lipid profile levels (p=0.05) compared to the study control and the pure VCO intervention group after seven days of intervention 16 .…”
