Effect of Earth Covering and Water Body on Land Surface Temperature (Lst)

Abstract: Land surface covering and water body play an important role on local environment especially on Land Surface Temperature (LST). In study above mentioned concept has been conducted on the drainage basin of Atai-Bhairab-Rupsha river confluence which is an important place both for agriculture and trade in the south-western part of Bangladesh. Here the impact of both surface covering and water body on local environmental factor like LST is being analyzed to determine the main catalyst in ever changing LST. LST stud… Show more

“…These results conclude that Dhaka and Chattogram are highly concentrated urban areas with intense land surface temperature; hence, they retain greater hotspot zones. Similarly, diversified surface temperatures are acknowledged for different cities in Bangladesh including Chattogram [62,63], Dhaka [58], Rajshahi [45,64,65], Barisal [66], and Mymensingh [67]. The obtained identification determines that dry land considers high LST values as well as urbanized areas, which is shown in the exploration of several studies [45,63].…”

“…The ongoing urbanization process has resulted in the expansion of urban areas, causing significant changes in land surface properties. In the context of global warming, LST emerges as a relevant indicator, with a strong relationship to factors such as vegetation, water bodies, and, most notably, urban development (Uddin & Mondal, 2020). LST is a valuable source of information about surface attributes and climate dynamics, making it useful in a variety of environmental scenarios (Weng & Yang, 2004).…”

“…3 The alterations may have profound effects on the existing climate and ecological balance in the Danjiang Basin (Henan section). 4 LST is a critical factor in the energy and water balance of the Earth's surface, playing a pivotal role in the analysis of regional LST variations. Accurately assessing its spatial and temporal distribution and studying the potential impact of the central route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project are of paramount importance.…”
