“…Three ginseng containing formulations, Shenfu Injection, Shengmai Injection and Shenmai Injection had similar therapeutic effects of tonifying Qi and preventing exhaustion, they could be adjuvant rescue and alternative treatment of COVID-19 patients with septic shock, viral myocarditis, and cardiogenic shock in clinical practice [91][92][93]. For example, in rabbits with LPS-induced septic shock, Shenfu injection could increase mean arterial pressure, decrease the serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and glutamate transaminase (ALT) levels, improve the tissue morphology of heart, liver and kidney, and increase the contents of ATP and taurine in the heart tissue during septic shock [94].
