The deaf normally considered to be disabled that do not need any mobile technology due to the inabilities of hearing and talking. However, many deaf are using mobile phone in their daily life for various purposes such as communication and learning. Many studies have attempted to identify the need of deaf people in mobile application and level of usage of the applications. This study aims in studying the recent research conducted on deaf mobile application to understand the level of importance of mobile technology for this disabled community. This paper enable identification of studies conducted are limited and the need of more research done of this disabled people to ensure their privilege of using mobile technology and its application, which leads to the identification of deaf user requirement for mobile application as future study.

PurposeThe purpose of this article is to analyze the optimization process in depth, elaborating on the components of the entire process and the techniques used. Researchers have been drawn to the expanding trend of optimization since the turn of the century. The rate of research can be used to measure the progress and increase of this optimization procedure. This study is phenomenal to understand the optimization process and different algorithms in addition to their application by keeping in mind the current computational power that has increased the implementation for several engineering applications.Design/methodology/approachTwo-dimensional analysis has been carried out for the optimization process and its approaches to addressing optimization problems, i.e. computational power has increased the implementation. The first section focuses on a thorough examination of the optimization process, its objectives and the development of processes. Second, techniques of the optimization process have been evaluated, as well as some new ones that have emerged to overcome the above-mentioned problems.FindingsThis paper provided detailed knowledge of optimization, several approaches and their applications in civil engineering, i.e. structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, transportation and many more. This research provided tremendous emerging techniques, where the lack of exploratory studies is to be approached soon.Originality/valueOptimization processes have been studied for a very long time, in engineering, but the current computational power has increased the implementation for several engineering applications. Besides that, different techniques and their prediction modes often require high computational strength, such parameters can be mitigated with the use of different techniques to reduce computational cost and increase accuracy.

The operations involved in building a structure interact and depend on one another. The model is developed using an Apriori-based swarm intelligence method, with the non-dominated solutions to the separation of elephant herding optimization technique as the swarm intelligence method. Also, population initialization, selection, and fitness evaluation for input parameters are used. This strategy optimizes construction time, cost, & environmental effects in an actual construction project. Compared to the original simulation-optimization integration, the suggested machine learning-based solution dramatically reduces computing time. A case study of a building construction project has been employed to show the usability of the proposed method. Similarly, the usefulness of the proposed AEHO model in optimal design is demonstrated by measuring many performance measures and a comparison with an already existing PSO optimization model. In addition, a coefficient value plot is established for visualizing the provided objectives, and an apriori method is presented for selecting one solution from the Pareto-optimal front that has been generated. This study intends to minimize time and cost for construction projects that include repetitive project activities by using the learning curve phenomenon, which reduces time and cost savings when considering the project's start and finish dates.
