Efficacy of Different Dentin Posts for the Treatment of Primary Anterior Teeth (An In vitro study)

Abstract: Introduction:Early childhood Caries is a distressing situation for patients and parents and pediatric dentists. Aim: current research was carried out to evaluate fracture resistance and bond strength for different types of dentin posts compared to fiber posts. Materials and Methods: This Current in-vitro study was conducted on 48 extracted primary incisors. Samples were split randomly into 4 groups of 12 for each group. Group-I (fiber posts 6mm length, 1.4mm diameter), Group-II (dentin posts 6mm length, 1.4 di… Show more

“…The mean fracture resistance in the dentin posts group was 246.3 N, which is consistent with many studies such as the study of El-Shaabany and El-Baz conducted on the maxillary and mandibular primary anterior teeth [21]. The results of this study are also in agreement with the results of several studies conducted on permanent teeth such as studies done by Ambica et al and Kathuria et al [14,23].…”

“…Sample size was calculated based on the mean FR of post and core retrieved from a previous study. 14 The G* Power program version 3.1.9.7 was used to calculate sample size based on an effect size of 0.82, using a 2tailed test with α error =0.05 and power = 90.0%, the sample size was at least 10 samples in each group.…”
