The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self efficacy, competence, and emotional quotient on employee performance through career development as an intervening variable on private companies in Surabaya, Indonesia. This research was conducted on 98 employees as a sample. The data were gathered by survey method with questionnaire instruments and further analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) techniques. The results of this study showed that all formulated hypotheses of self efficacy, competence, and emotional quotient were accepted. A significant influence on career development and also on employee performance, and otherwise, carrier development had a significant effect on employee performance of the companies in Surabaya, Indonesia.
