Populus tremula L. is a widespread plant in Russia; has long been used in folk medicine as an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial agent. In the Russian Federation, in official medicine, aspen bark is used as part of antiparasitic dietary supplements; other morphological parts of the plant are not used. In the course of this study, a pharmacognostic analysis of samples of bark, buds, leaves and shoots of common aspen, collected by phases of the growing season during 2023, was carried out. In all objects of study, the composition and content of the main groups of biologically active substances (flavonoids, catechins, caffeic and salicylic acids, xanthophylls and chlorophylls) were established. According to the results of the study, buds, leaves and shoots of common aspen can be considered as promising types of raw materials.
