Etude De L’Activité Antioxydante Des Huiles Essentielles De Plantes Aromatiques Et Médicinales Marocaines

Abstract: Morocco is a traditional supplier of medicinal and aromatic plants to the world. This activity has resulted to the exploitation of wild plants than dried plants for herbal needs and food flavors. Many species are used for the production of plant extracts and other aromatic essences mainly for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. “…This study demonstrated that iron reduction is dose-dependent since it changes depending on the concentration and ascorbic acid has a substantially higher potential to reduce Fe 3+ than the aqueous and ethanol extracts. These findings corroborate with those made in Morocco by Ismaili et al [ 28 ], who also showed this dose-dependent relation. The activity observed can be due to the chemical components of the plant.…”

“…Furthermore, with IC50 of 0.005 mg/ml, M. piperita EO from Turkey was more active than that of our study (Kizil et al, 2010). However, the activity of T. vulgaris EO is signifi cant compared to other EOs from Morocco (4.57 mg/ml) (Ismaili et al, 2017).…”

“…Compiling this checklist of medicinal plant species in Taza province can help in conservation efforts (protection of rare or endangered species), preserve traditional knowledge, ensure their availability to future generations, guide research efforts, ensure the sustainability of important species, and the economic development of the province (source of income for the communities). Contextualizing the checklist (202 medicinal species) at the country level (Morocco), we find that it constitutes 23.41 % of the Moroccan medicinal flora found in Ennabili et al (2023), 33.67 % of the Moroccan species classified as aromatic or medicinal (600 species) Botanical Sciences / Online First Botanical Sciences / Online First according to Ismaili et al (2021) and 40.40 % of Moroccan medicinal species (500 species) economically important according to Ennabili et al (2000). The number of families found constitutes 72.11 % of the 104 botanical families found recently in Ennabili et al (2023).…”
