Background: COVID-19 pandemic constituted significant challenges in obstetric and pediatric health care services. Maternity and paediatrics staff are at high risk of occupational exposure to Covid-19, predominantly among pregnant women and children often asymptomatic for Covid-19 so that infections may go unrecognized. Staff development programs regarding infection prevention and control using nursing evidence-based practice regarding the covid -19 pandemic in the obstetrics -gynaecology and paediatrics wards were part of the needed response. Aim: Evaluate the effect of the staff development program on Nursing Evidence-Based performance regarding the Covid -19 pandemic in the obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics departements. Methodology: A quasi-experimental method and an interventional pre and post-test were used to study a sample of 112 nurses. A purposive sample technique was used to choose the sample from the obstetricsgynaecology and paediatrics departements using 4 tools to collect the data Results: The findings revealed a marked improvement in nurses' Knowledge of COVID-19 post-implementation of the program compared to pre-intervention. 79.5 % of the studied sample have good Knowledge regarding Covid-19 post implementation of the program, compared to 38.4 % pre-implementation. Also, 26.0% of them carried out the practice needed for Covid-19 most of the time post-program compared to 4.5% post program, and 28.0 % of the studied sample had a positive attitude regarding Covid-19 post implementation program, compared to 17.0 pre-implementation. Moreover, 91% of them were satisfied with the program compared to 9% dissatisfied. Conclusion: Translating evidence into practice during a Covid-19 pandemic to establishing a staff development program is the best possible provision of healthcare and guarantees preventive measures for the healthcare providers and is critical in facing Covid-19 and working in the complete chain of health care.Recommendations: A staff development program related to Covid-19 must be periodically held for maternity and pediatric health staff.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been used in patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) for many years, but its clinical efficacy is still controversial. Therefore, this study explored the efficacy of HBOT applied to DFU by means of meta‐analysis. PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, CNKI and Wanfang databases were searched, from database inception to October 2023, and published randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of HBOT in DFU were collected. Two investigators independently screened the collected literature, extracted relevant data and assessed the quality of the literature. Review Manager 5.4 software was applied for data analysis. Twenty‐nine RCTs with 1764 patients were included. According to the combined results, when compared with conventional treatment, HBOT significantly increased the complete healing rate of DFUs (46.76% vs. 24.46%, odds ratio [OR]: 2.83, 95% CI: 2.29–3.51, p < 0.00001) and decreased the amputation rate (26.03% vs. 45.00%, OR: 0.41, 95% CI: 0.18–0.95, p = 0.04), but the incidence of adverse events was significantly higher in patients (17.37% vs. 8.27%, OR: 2.49, 95% CI: 1.35–4.57, p = 0.003), whereas there was no significant difference in the mortality (6.96% vs. 12.71%, OR: 0.52, 95% CI: 0.21–1.28, p = 0.16). Our results suggest that HBOT is effective in increasing the complete healing rate and decreasing the amputation rate in patients with DFUs, but increases the incidence of adverse events, while it has no significant effect on mortality.

Latar Belakang: Diabetes mellitus merupakan salah satu masalah di dunia yang saat ini semakin meningkat karena ketidakstabilan kadar gula dalam darah yang disebabkan kerusakan pada sekresi insulin, kerja insulin atau keduanya. Tujuan: Untuk memperoleh gambaran dan mampu melakukan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien dengan Diabetes Mellitus. Metode: Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sampel yang digunakan pada studi kasus ini yaitu Tn. S dan Tn. A dengan diagnosis diabetes mellitus. Data yang didapatkan menggunakan pedoman asuhan keperawatan medikal bedah. Hasil: Setelah dilakukan asuhan keperawatan selama 3 x 24 jam pada Tn. S didapatkan hasil nyeri kronis sudah teratasi karena skala nyeri menurun menjadi 1, ketidakstabilan kadar glukosa darah teratasi sebagian karna hasil GDS masih tinggi, risiko infeksi teratasi sebgian karena masih terdapat kemerahan pada luka, gangguan mobilitas fisik teratasi sebagian karena pasien masih kesulitan dalam bergerak. Sedangkan pada Tn. A setelah dilakukan asuhan keperawatan selama 3 x 24 jam didapatkan hasil teratasi semua pada 3 diagnosa yaitu ketidakstabilan kadar glukosa darah, nausea, gangguan pola tidur karena terdapat perubahan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil diatas bahwa penderita diabetes mellitus yang mengalami peningkatan kadar gula dalam darah yang disebabkan oleh ketidakpatuhanya pola makan dan ketidakpatuhan dalam pengobatan maka perlunya peran perawat dalam memberikan edukasi kesehatan dengan menganjurkan makanan yang sehat dan mengajarkan cara perawatan mandiri.
