“…In the present patient, anti-P may have clustered with LAC, and these two autoantibodies may have participated together to bring about renal lesions unrelated to the anti-DNA titers. Furthermore, pathogenetic potentials of anti-P in LN have been reported (29,30). Recently it has been reported that anti-p2GPI antibody as well as LACis closely related with thromboembolic events in patient with APS (3 1, 32).…”

“…The antigenic analytes employed in these tests included purified native proteins, recombinant polypeptides, a synthetic peptide comprising the 22 C-terminal amino acids (C22), and a multiple antigen peptide construct (1,12,13,21,22,23,26,30,38). Recently, a Rib-P profile assay based on the three recombinant ribosomal P proteins and the C22 peptide in separate tests was developed and evaluated (22).Anti-Rib-P antibodies were mainly detected in patients during the active phase of SLE and were believed to be correlated with lupus nephritis or hepatitis (4,11,12,24,28,30,36). …”

“…Of note, it has also been disclosed that lupus nephritis is much more prevalent in antiribosomal P antibody-positive systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients than in antiribosomal P antibody-negative ones [6,7]. Moreover, recent studies have also suggested the direct participation of antiribosomal P antibody in the pathogenesis of lupus nephritis [8]. In the present report, we describe a case of SSc complicated with the nephrotic syndrome due to glomerulonephritis which also showed elevation of serum antiribosomal P antibody, providing additional evidence for the involvement of this autoantibody in the development of glomerulonephritis.…”
