“…The exceptions to this trend are HCO for Cr(VI) [16], nanoporous ZOP for U(VI) [29] and various morphologies of CuO for Pb(II) [35]. For the removal of arenic and its relevant species there is more diversity of nanomaterials employed, e.g., Cu(II) oxide nanoparticles [17], alumina nanoparticles dispersed in polymer materials [24] and CaO2 [28].…”

“…Concerning the removal of chromium and its relevant species, studies point out that the use of nanoparticles is addressed to groundwater removal of chromium, to soil and groundwater, to soil remediation and to wastewater treatment [10][11][12][13][14][15][16].…”

“…As can be seen from the correlation coefficients (R 2 ), the Freundlich model fits the experimental values better than the other models. Conformation of the data into the Freundlich isotherm model demonstrated the formation of multilayer coverage of LAS at the outer surface of adsorbents and showed the heterogeneous nature of LAS adsorption onto adsorbents which suggests that adsorption sites are identical and energetically equivalent [33]. The values of K F and 1/n were calculated from the slope and intercept of the plot in Fig.…”

“…Cerium oxide nanoparticles stabilised with hexamethylenetetramine were able to remove Cr(VI) with 96.5% efficiency, and after the treatment process, the nanoparticles could be centrifuged out of the water, while chromium could be desorbed using NaOH [125]. Taking it a step further, the ability of hydrous cerium oxide nanoparticles to adsorb Cr(VI) was also investigated, which yielded positive results [126]. The potential of CoFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles (synthesised in a costeffective manner) for remediation of Cr(VI) from wastewater released from a printing press was quantified to be 67%, with no major loss of adsorption capacity up to three reaction cycles [127].…”
