Experimental study on driver seat vibration characteristics of crawler-type combine harvester

Abstract: To improve the driving comfort of combine harvesters, driver seat low-frequency vibration and related driver ride-comfort problems were investigated on a Chinese CFFL-850 crawler-type full-feed combine harvester based on ISO2631. Driver vibration and driving seat transmission characteristics were measured under the following conditions: no-load idling, driving on the road, driving in the field, and simulated harvesting. The root mean square values composite vibration under four conditions were 3.63 m/s 2 , 2.3… Show more

“…e vibration data under various working conditions showed that almost all the vibration transmission efficiency coefficients at low frequencies were greater than 1. It showed that the vibration transmission efficiency of the whole machine was very high, and the frame was an important medium for the vibration transmission of the whole machine [33]. In addition, because of the differences in the structure of the frame at different positions, there were certain differences in the sensitivity to the vibration energy generated by the excitation source.…”

“…Because the driver's body mass influences the results of vibration tests, the combine was operated by a single driver weighing 78 kg at a distance of 100 m to measure and record the vibration signals of the machine seats [18,19]. For measuring vibrations, the Lurton-VB 8203 vibration meter was used with a vibration acceleration range of 0.5-199 m / s2, accuracy of 0.1 m / s2 and a frequency range of 10-1000 Hz.…”

“…The vibration total value a hv , the daily vibration exposure A (8), and the exposure duration D y can be calculated by Table 5 and (Equations (1), (2), (4) and (5)), and the results under working conditions were listed in Table 7. As can be seen from Table 7, under condition IV, the vibration total value and the daily vibration exposure were minimum, 3.24 m/s 2 and 2.29 m/s 2 , and the exposure duration of vibration-induced white finger was the longest, for 13.2 years.…”

“…Many researches have been done in order to better understand the mechanism of agricultural machinery vibration transmitted to human hands from its excitation sources, and find a way to reduce vibration [5][6][7][8] or improve the operator's working conditions [9][10][11] . Dewangan et al pointed that the vibration energy absorption (VEA) may provide a better indication of vibration-induced injuries than would a measure of the handle vibration spectrum [12] .…”
