Fabrication of Titanium–Tin Oxide Nanocomposite with Enhanced Adsorption and Antimicrobial Applications

Abstract: The binary nanocomposite (BNC) was synthesized by using SnCl 2 •5H 2 O and C 12 H 28 O 4 Ti precursors and characterized by Brunauer− Emmett−Teller analysis, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The characterization results confirm the successful synthesis of binary nanocomposite with size of about 15 nm. The synthesized binary nanocomposite (BNC) was e… Show more

“…The TiO 2 NPs have smaller size is the most activity sample against all the bacteria as compared to those calcined at higher temperature. This is due to the increase in the particles size, surface area decreased resulting a clear reduction in the reactive surfaces sites, which decrease the capability of nanoparticles to inhibit the growth of bacteria (Mahfooz‐Ur‐Rehman et al, 2019; Sathiyaraj, Suriyakala, Dhanesh, & Sivakumar, 2020). The TiO 2 sparingly dissolved in aqueous solution and release Ti 2+ ions, which alter the surface properties like free energy.…”

“…The low MIC values suggest that less sample is required to control the replication of bacteria cells. According to the findings, Rocephin‐GO and GO‐AgNPs showed good activity against five selected nonresistant bacterial strains as compared with bare samples and positive and negative control ciprofloxacin and DMSO, respectively (Mahfooz‐ur‐Rehman et al, 2019).…”
