“…To study the structural and morphological characteristics of the coatings, Fourier transform‐infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (Fedrizzi et al , 1996) have been used. FTIR (Satoh and Urban, 1996; Mamiya et al , 2002) is an established analytical technique for functional group analysis and for study of the hydrogen bonding and phase separation behaviour in polymers, since mid‐infrared spectral changes in band intensity and frequency shifts are known criteria for the presence and strength of hydrogen bonds. SEM is one of the better methods to study the surface morphology of the coating surface.…”

“…Epoxy-silicone resins may also be cured by means of butyltitanates [27]. Coatings with good protective properties and decreased combustibility may be obtained using a composition of cycloaliphatic diphenylepoxy resin cured with triethylenetetramine and the addition of glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) [28,29]. Silicone resins may be applied for the modification of non-aqueous acrylic dispersions [30,31].…”

“…Silane compounds have been increasingly used in coatings (Mamiya et al , 2002), composites (Piotr et al , 2015), adhesion (Indulekha et al , 2018; Liew et al , 2017) and biomaterials (Kaliyathan et al , 2018) because of their impressive physical and chemical properties such as high energy of Si-O bond, surface energy and low surface tension (Liao et al , 2018; Song et al , 2015; Morshedian et al , 2009). Further, improvements in heat and water durability of acrylate are the main direction of the modification of acrylate (Luo et al , 2006).…”
