“…However, the first IgM peak detected in sea bass larvae from day 18 to day 30 was not reported in the other fish species. IgM reactive cells were also detected by FACS analysis in the larvae during the same period, suggesting that the Ig detected by ELISA could be Ig fragments (Kaattari, 1992) or cytoplasmic chain (Kitamura et al, 1992) derived from pre-B cells that had been crushed during sample preparation. This period (from day 18 to day 30) was also characterised by the development of the thymus and the head kidney.…”
