Formation of Composite Surface Layers TiNiTa + cBN-Co-NiAl-Y Considering their Properties

Abstract: We developed formation technology of composition "steel - material with shape memory effect - high-temperature ceramic wear layer" by means of high-velocity oxygen-fuel spraying in the protective environment of mechanically activated powders TiNiTa and cBN-Co-NiAl-Y. We determined optimal processing parameters. We revealed regularities in the formation of nanosized state composition on the basis of the complex X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy studies. We carried out tests om steel 1045 with a surface-… Show more

“…A distinctive feature of the composition, which includes intellectual SME material, is its multifunctionality [7]. Among the basic properties of the composition that can be provided in various combinations in various technologies there are: adhesion, reversibility of inelastic deformations, reactive stresses, strength, microhardness, controlled elastic properties (superelasticity), cyclic durability, crack resistance, damping ability, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, heat stability, surface quality (roughness).…”

“…Therefore, it is relevant to use the surface layered compositions of TiNiCo-B4C-Co made of materials with shape memory effect + wear-resistant ceramic layer, in order to improve the durability of propellers operating at low temperatures. The multilayered composition "base-SME alloy -ceramic wear-resistant layer" is characterized by greater energy absorption than single-layer coatings, by a decrease in the propagation speed of microcracks in layers, which have a gradient in phase composition and thickness, by high adhesion properties of the constituent layers and the base, by special technological characteristics in the selection of the interlayer [9], [10].…”
