“…The development of the three stages in the micro-mammal evolutionary lineage of Arvicola terrestris cantiana-Arvicola terrestris terrestris (Van Kolfschoten, 1990) took place during NAZ-E, NAZ-D, and NAZ-C (the Noordbergum Interglacial, the Holsteinian, and the Oostermeer Interglacial). The Netherlands molluscan aminozones NAZ-B and NAZ-C correlate with the Danish foraminiferal aminozones AZ2 and AZ3 from Sejrup and Knudsen (1999). The British freshwater mollusc aminozones of Bowen (1992) correlate with our zonation as follows: Bowen-F with NAZ-B, Bowen-E with NAZ-C, Bowen-D with NAZ-D, and Bowen-C with NAZ-E. Marine deposits dating from MIS 7 (NAZ-C) have been found in Denmark, Germany, the northern and southwestern Netherlands, and Belgium.…”
